Members of BARS recently completed a successful Parks on the Air (POTA) activation at Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park on October 4, 2025.
Parks on the Air (POTA) is a volunteer program that encourages amateur radio operators to activate state and national parks, making contacts from those locations. Each activation requires a minimum of 10 QSOs (contacts) to count as a valid POTA activation.
Our team set up a portable station at the historic fort site and made contacts across multiple bands. It was a fantastic day combining amateur radio with the great outdoors and Florida history.
Interested in participating in future POTA activations? Contact any of our officers or bring it up at the next club meeting!
